Four years ago I was commissioned to do a portrait of this lovely lady for her birthday. It’s amazing how time has flown by. It was 2017 and I had just done The Folio Society book covers for Patrick Leigh Fermor’s travel books on Greece. I was at a cross roads, having done my Masters in Children’s Book illustration and having illustrated a couple of books, but did not know which direction to throw myself into next.

We finally made it! Only a 5.5 hour round trip 😂 to the summit of Hydra and back home. The perfect birthday hike 👌 . And much relieved after peer pressure from @daisy_leitch and @rcptroughton 🤣
